Your eyes are usually the first thing people notice as you exchange eye contact or engage in conversation. Whether smiling or frowning, your eyes are constantly conveying expressions. Due to the wrinkling and stretching of eyelid skin, this area may be the first to show the signs of aging. Fortunately, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and browlift surgery (browplasty) can improve your appearance safely and effectively.
Where is surgery performed?
Blepharoplasty and browplasty are outpatient procedures, which can be performed in the office or in an ambulatory surgery center.
Is it painful?
We make every effort to make the surgical procedure as painless and comfortable as possible. Oral or intravenous sedation is given prior to surgery for relaxation and to minimize the discomfort of local anesthesia.
How long does the procedure take?
Surgery takes from one to three hours depending upon how many procedures are performed.
What are restrictions following surgery?
Resume driving and reading after two to three days Return to work after seven to ten days Return to strenuous activity in two to three weeks.
How long will the effect of surgery last?
Blepharoplasty and browplasty usually gives a long lasting effect. Aging of the skin with fine wrinkling may become noticeable with time.
Will insurance cover eyelid or eyebrow surgery?
Insurance may pay for upper eyelid or eyebrow surgery if significant visual obstruction can be demonstrated.
What is the cosmetic surgery payment policy?
Payment by personal check or credit card is requested at least one week prior to surgery for cosmetic cases. We also offer an easy financing plan that takes only minutes for approval. Ask us for details!
